Wireless Bus bar Temperature Monitor

Challenges in Industry :
  • Failure in Power distribution system due to Temperature can result in loss of productivity and even fire or explosion
  • Generation of heat is an indication of loss of energy and wastage of power
  • Heat also contributes in shortening life of an equipment
  • Since contact resistance measurement would be dangerous it is necessary to use isolated sensors

Solution :

WIRELESS BUSBAR TEMPERATURE MONITOR SYSTEM :

  • WBTMS integrates online temperature measurement, data collection, data analysis and control function
  • WBTMS consists of :
    • Sensors ( Wireless Temperature transmitters – BBS350)
    • Receiver (Wireless Signal Receiving & Monitoring Unit – BBC969)
    • Software (Processing, Alarming & Reporting Software – AmpSCADA ** **Optional

  • Bus Bar Sensors :
    • Digital Sensors
    • Measures temperature in wide range : -40 deg C to 125 deg C
    • Transmission Interval : Every 30 sec to 300 sec
    • Transmission Range : Upto 15-20 mtrs (Can be increased upto 4 kms with additional hardware)
  • Receiver :
    • Receiver BBC969 is installed in the control panel
    • One unit monitors 9 sensors
    • Alarm Mode : Buzzer, Relay for Hooter & Relay for CB
    • Depending on number of sensors, a series of BBC969 controller can connect in daisy chain on Modbus
  • Software (Optional) :
    • Processes the sensors’s information from Modbus
    • Records in textual log file
    • Display Alerts, Trend Charts & generate customize reports
    • Admin User can set ALerts or generate reports

Application Area :

  1. Input & Output bus bar of Switchgear
  2. Circuit breaker contact
  3. Bearing & Winding of the motor
  4. High temperature air outlets
  5. Power distribution Transformers
